RVWC in the Community . . . Our Charitable Partners
The leadership of Roanoke Valley Wine realizes that a company can’t be strong unless it is willing to help address basic needs in the community it serves. These needs are many and we have limited resources. In an effort to make the greatest impact possible we have selected the following philanthropic partners. Our goal will be to actively engage and support these organizations through approved financial support, company resources and encouraged employee participation in company and community awareness campaigns. Our goal will also be to educate our Employees on the mission of each organization so that they can be informed supporters.
Current Philanthropic Recipients:
Boy Scouts of America – The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
Christi Crutchfield Scholarship Fund – Foundation for Roanoke Valley – In memory of RVWC employee Christi Crutchfield, a scholarship gift is made each year in Christi’s name.
Feeding America Southwest VA Food Bank – Feeding America is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity.
Habitat for Humanity– Habitat for Humanity is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build together in partnership.
Haiti Education Foundation– The mission of the HEF is to provide an education and nourishing meal to children in St. Matthias and Ascension Parishes in Haiti.
Presbyterian Community Center - The PCC serves as the comprehensive neighborhood center tending to the physical, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual needs of families. The center creates opportunities to support, release and strengthen each individual’s gifts, so every person becomes a fully empowered citizen in the world today and tomorrow.
Taubman Museum of Art – As a center for the visual arts, the Taubman encourages a free exchange between the making of art, the display of art and the interpretation of art. Our programs endeavor to explore creativity from inspiration to presentation with the goal of engaging and intriguing audiences.
